Sinclair & Moore Workshop in Seattle
My entire life I’ve never been someone who excelled at formal education. What I lack in the test taking department, I hands down make up for in work ethic and organizational skills. So if you had if told me one day I’d have an entire bucket list of educational workshops I dreamed of attending, design and business alike, I would have never believed you. This past summer I was so fortunate to cross off one of my biggest aspirations and attended the Sinclair & Moore Workshop in Ballard, Seattle. Myself and nineteen other women gathered at his studio for 3 days of inspiration, education and the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever set eyes on. I have been following Sinclair & Moore since well - the start of Instagram. So to step foot inside his studio, with the incredible chandeliers and a compote collection my actual dreams are made of was truly surreal.
The first day we spent doing formal introductions. I spend the majority of my days working alone in my studio, so to meet 19 like minded women who truly understand the highs and lows of this industry was so refreshing. We went on to spend the afternoon listening to Steve's story. From the conception of his business to where it is today. I have so much respect for the tenacity and grit he’s endured throughout his career. The second was all about the florals and design. We processed, listened and created. The varieties available to us were the absolute best of the best - it was such a treat.
On the last day our whole team gathered at Grand Union Station in Downtown Seattle - just past the infamous Pike Place Market and the Space Needle. It’s a historic building with so much elegance and charm. We spent the morning finishing table arrangements, laying down linens and setting out all the details. It was pretty incredible to see an event of this capacity come to fruition and the ease that Steve directed a team of 25+ people.
To say I left Seattle with a full heart and head of inspiration would be an understatement. I am truly still soaking in all the details, while looking forward to where my next dream will land me.
