Planning Your Ceremony Flowers

Ceremony florals are some of my favorite elements to design for any wedding. Regardless of the length of your ceremony, this will be the most important part of your wedding day (and likely one of the most photographed as well). The place where your vows are exchanged and your marriage begins. Today I am sharing some of our favorite ceremony installations and a few tips that will help you in planning your own.

Repurpose whenever possible.

Your ceremony installations and arrangements will likely be some of the more costly items on your proposal. However keep in mind these items can almost always be reused in the reception space as well. For example, arch flowers can be used as photo backdrops, Garlands can be used to adorn your head table, Entry arrangements can be used on welcome tables or to frame you during the reception. There are lots of ways to get dual use for your money. Keep in mind if you’d like your florist to stay past the ceremony to do any repurposing for you, this will reflect in your set up and delivery fees.

Go all in on one element.

Whenever budget is tight I always suggest to allocate your money into one impactful moment insteading of spreading it out over multiple small items. If your quote comes in higher, consider removing elements such as aisle markers, entry arrangements, greenery for welcome signs, etc, and invest your entire ceremony budget into one impressive installation or arrangement to frame your where you’ll be standing.

Consider your Setting.

During your site visit make sure to note any existing structures available such as existing Arches, mantles, stages, etc. If possible, photos of the ceremony space are always encouraged during your floral consultation as we can likely make suggestions you haven't thought of yet based  on the space.  We may need to look at renting a structure or creating one from scratch if your venue options are limited.

We often hear that choosing your florals and decor is one of the most exciting stages of wedding planning. Although we might be a bit biased, I couldn’t agree more. The more creative freedom that is available to your vendors, I can promise the better result you’ll receive. Here are a handful of our favorite ceremony spaces we’ve created over the years.
